Background:
Cindy Robertson (she/her) received her Master of Social Work Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a Licensed Clinical Social worker. She spent the majority of her career providing trauma- informed individual and group counseling services to adult and child survivors of violence. In 2020 she was recognized in Style Weekly 30 under 30 for her work as Clinical Director at Safe Harbor, working with survivors of sexual/domestic violence, and human trafficking.
Cindy is passionate about her work with those who have experienced complex trauma and has focused her career in the field of trauma, grief, and addiction. Cindy practices from a holistic and person-centered approach incorporating Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. Cindy helps her clients recognize their own resilience, and her work is informed by her strong belief in the human capacity for healing and growth. Cindy is also fluent in Spanish and strives to provide a culturally-affirming space for the Latine community.
