Kristen Norton, LCSW

Kristen (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over fifteen years of experience in the mental health field. After receiving her MSW from the university of south Carolina, she spent time working with various populations and in a variety of settings including inpatient, residential treatment, community mental health, and outpatient. Additionally, Kristen has been a board registered supervisor for licensure since 2014.
Kristen enjoys works with adolescents and adults and the many life transitions that accompany these ages. This includes, but is not limited to, working with folks navigating peer and intimate relationships; academic functioning; and adjustment disorders.. In addition, she specializes in trauma related disorders, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, LGBTQ+ issues, and personality disorders. Kristen appreciates being able to work alongside folks who experience chronic suicidality and often provides support during times of crisis.
Kristen’s primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and is pursuing RO-DBT certification. She believes in creating a safe and supportive environment for people in order to encourage therapeutic learning and growth. Kristen is LGBTQIA+ affirming and competent.
As a busy parent to a teenage son, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, collecting and listening to vinyl records, attending comic conventions, and gardening.
